The Ouster Multi Layer LiDAR already enjoys a very large user base after a very short time on the market. In a direct comparison, the Ouster LiDARs are characterized by a sensational price/performance ratio. Competitors set their sales price, if they have a LiDAR in their range, which can keep up with the large number of layers of Ouster, at up to 10x (ten times). Nevertheless, there are only a few competitors in this market who have longer experience than Ouster, and because of this, still have some technical refinements.
The Ouster 3D-LiDAR are not only of very high quality, but can also convince with very good software support. The US company provides a visualization tool for Windows, MAC & Linux as well as a Microsoft Visual Studio API, C++ library and full ROS support. As a result, the implementation of an Ouster sensor in a UGV (Unmanned Ground Vehicle) or UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) is possible within a very short time and in a very comfortable way.
